Press Release on Behalf of Mayor JoJo Burgess.
Mayor Burgess had the misfortune of being at work yesterday, August 11, 2025 at the Clairton Coke Works during the time in which a horrific accident occurred.
The accident sadly took the lives of two of his Union Brothers and injured several other co-workers, some seriously.
Mayor Burgess extends his heartfelt condolences to the families of the lost workers at the Clairton Coke Works. Both he and his family are praying for these families, as well as for those injured.
