In creating the foundation in 1944\, the Benedum expressed the wish that grant making be focused in West Virginia and Pittsburgh\, their native and adopted homes. The foundation has authorized grants totaling more than $410\,000\,000. \nAbout Wash Arts:\nThe Washington Community Arts and Cultural Center is the home of Wash Arts\, a community based arts program located in the heart of Washington PA.
