The City is hiring for the position of Firefighter. Please read requirements below before applying.  Qualified Applicants will be notified and scheduled for physical agility and written testing taking place on March 31st.

CITY OF WASHINGTON FIRE FIGHTER

GENERAL REQUIREMENT:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Possess IFSAC or Pro Board Firefighter 2 Certification
  • Possess a valid PA or NR Emergency Medical Technician
  • A United State Citizen
  • Must have current, valid PA driver license
  • Must obtain a CDL Class B within (one) year of hire date

Must adhere to living restriction (10.0 Radius Air Miles from Courthouse) Within (one) 1 year of hire date.

  • Base Salary $50,222.66 – (Probation Rate)

Applicants are required to pay a non-refundable testing fee (Check or Cash) of $60.00 with application (payable to The City of Washington)

  • May be obtained at the City of Washington City Clerk’s office at 55 West Maiden St. Washington, Pa.  between the hours of 8:30am to 4:00pm.
  • Applications must be returned to the City of Washington Clerk’s Office no later than 4:00pm on March 17, 2023

Applicants are required to pay a non-refundable testing fee of $60.00, cash, check, or money order (payable to The City of Washington) when application is returned.
